SCORES
I’m adding this new section for you to see a few scores. THIS WILL NOT BE IN EVERY EDITION. I mainly just wanted to put in Spring Training scores.
I just want to remind you. TODAY MEANS YESTERDAY.
Intro
So. Who’s going #1 in the NFL Draft?
It is really easy to say. CALEB WILLIAMS. CALEB WILLIAMS and this is probably going to happen.
But, does he deserve it?
Let’s see if he really deserves it & also what the Bears are going to do with Mr. Justin Fields.
THIS IDEA WAS GIVEN BY ETHAN ATKINSON. A FIVE-STAR SUBSCRIBER AT SPORTS SQUARE!

I want to start things off with a poll.
What do I say?
NO
I feel like there are way better players in the draft compared to Caleb. Micheal Penix Jr, JJ McCarthy, Drake Maye, etc. When you’re trying to draft a QB in the draft, you want to make sure this is your franchise guy. You aren’t going to win many championships alternating QBs every year and the pay. Oh, man.
But, this is only for the position group QB. Think about WRs. You know who would be a great example? Tyreek Hill. He could’ve stayed in KC all his life, but he left. Well, let’s put this in different terms. He got traded.
Because there isn’t something called franchise WR. Another reason why Tyreek is an amazing example is because of how good he is! Why would any team want to replace a guy like Tyreek?

A QB is the MOST important position in the game. Don’t believe me? Watch the Quarterback series on Netflix. The Chiefs? They’re already paying 50M a year for Patrick Mahomes. Spending 30M a year on a WR? With the salary cap stuff, that means they only had about 120M in cap space left! In that, they have to keep like, I don’t know, 52 other players?!
Alright, let’s get back on course, please.
What is the weakness(es) of Caleb Williams?
The term "gunslinger" is often used as a compliment for quarterbacks, suggesting a signal-caller with the talent and competitiveness to match any opponent throw for throw. Williams possesses this but he can be too quick to go off-script, resorting to the "Hero Ball" tendencies of trying to do too much on his own rather than staying within the confines of the play.
Though his problems are correctable, Williams is currently flawed from a technique standpoint, occasionally throwing off his back foot and across his body. Worse, Williams often holds the ball for too long, inviting hits and fumbling. Williams fumbled a staggering 20 times over his three seasons of college football, including a career-high 10 times in 2023. Along with ball security, there are also concerns about Williams' leadership ability — or, rather, the perception by some that he lacks it — and he's shorter than NFL teams prefer.
That’s a few lines pulled from Fox Sports and let me explain & dive a bit more into it.
Caleb Williams thinks football is a one-man sport. (That’s literally the first paragraph.)
Caleb Williams fumbles a lot, doesn’t have the greatest leadership, and he’s short. (That’s the second paragraph.)
Let’s explain the first part.
If you think football is a one-man sport? You’re never going to succeed. In crunch times, you can’t do everything by yourself, and that is especially important in the NFL. But, this rule has a few exceptions. Or… 2 exceptions.
Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady. But, only for now.
You see, Josh Allen would probably be a bit worse if he didn’t have Stefon Diggs. Dak Prescott would be NOTHING without CeeDee Lamb. Jalen Hurts wouldn’t be paid the hella lot of money he’s being paid without Devonta Smith and A.J. Brown. Heck, they wouldn’t have even made the Super Bowl.
This is just the present day. There are so many more examples from earlier on, but I hope you understand what I’m trying to say right now.
Let’s explain the second part.
Look at Bryce Young. He was short. Definitely not NFL-size, but he still got drafted #1 (the nerve of the Carolina Panthers). Being short isn’t the way you would do anything in the NFL. (We’re going to compare both of their stats later.)
Of course his leadership would suck! If he is just going to hog the ball and not pass to his teammates or do something else that makes HIM keep the ball, how would he have good leadership? He would just have the trait. Selfishness.
Fumbling. The guys in the NFL are even stronger and hits regularly? You’re probably just going to retire. Just like Cam Newton.
STATS:
Let’s compare it to others.
MICHAEL PENIX JR.
Comparing it? Might not look the best, but he hit the bell in every IMPORTANT stat.
More completions and attempts. Worse completion rating, but WAY more yards. Less average, but WAY more TDs. 11 int is definitely worse than 5, but does it really matter when you make the Championship game? I mean it kinda does, but still. Then, a 92 yard pass? His arm is CRAZY. Comparing that to… Sacks? 11 to 33. CALEB TOOK X3 MORE SACKS! Caleb has a better passer rating.
The win? I would give this to Penix ANYDAY.
Now that you understand how I compare, check out JJ McCarthy’s stats.
JJ McCarthy
So. What are the Bears going to do? Will they draft Caleb Williams?
Yes. The Bears will trade away Justin Fields, but I think they will get a pretty good haul for it. The reason I say this? Justin himself unfollowed the Bears on Instagram. We’ll talk about that in a second.
Is it going to be Caleb Williams? Yes, it is… That guy is overrated, and I don’t think will make it very far in this league. 33 sacks is definitely inexcusable.
So? Who’s going to get Justin Fields? What is he going to do?
Now. You might be pretty angry at me, or doubt me. A LOT, but I have the Seahawks, Saints, or Broncos getting him.
Why Seattle?
Geno Smith is old. He’s 33. They have no future with him. On the other hand, Justin Fields is 24. Yes. 24! His future is as bright as ever, and he really showed that in the final few games of the NFL season! Seattle has a new head coach in town that wants to win, and I think Justin Fields is tired of the long days of LOSING in a Bears uniform.
Why New Orleans?
This may not be all that possible, because Derek Carr got his contract restructured. Definitely, though, this franchise wants to win. Lots of stuff has changed since Drew Brees left, but one thing was the biggest. The winning ways. Fields isn’t a guy that is going to bring a lot of winning experience to this team, but this just feels like the perfect match!
Why Denver?
Jarret Stidham = Not a starting QB
Russell Wilson = Definitely out of Denver.
This doesn’t impact Justin Fields much, as all of these teams have their franchise QB (NOT COUNTING THE BEARS).
Last thing I wanted to say. What about Tyson Bagent? No one talks about him much anymore.
Let me tell you, that kid is going to become the future of one team in the NFL. It may take time. It may take A LOT OF TIME, and maybe because of his starting position, he may not earn all that much money. But, he is going to be a guy that everyone will know.
Who would I draft #1?
Michael Penix Jr. I think he isn’t coveted enough.
JJ McCarthy?
JJ McCarthy has a few weaknesses. Basically that is he doesn’t have much experience and that he was carried by Michigan’s run-heavy offensive and amazing offensive line. To put in a few words. He didn’t need to do much.
Michael Penix may not be able to throw on the run, but he has a big arm. Durability may be why most people have Caleb Williams at pick #1, but when he isn’t injured. Oh, man, this guy is something else.
Due to his medical evaluation, Penix is the biggest wildcard among quarterbacks of the 2024 NFL draft with a top 10 or mid-Day 2 selection possible. The team that gambles on his rare arm talent could win big.
Fox Sports has him Top 50. I say not. Maybe Penix goes to New England?
Where do you have Penix? Tell me in the comments below!

(Two sports quotes Wednesday. Can’t fit.)
My Take on Caleb Williams & The Draft: As a HUGE Oklahoma Sooners Fan, It is Embarrassing that Caleb Williams Even Stepped Foot on the Campus in Norman, let alone step on the field, and he played for us! He is a embarrassment. Ever seen the movie, Draft Day? Watch it, Williams deserves to be like Bo Callahan, everyone think he's a certain first overall pick, but the team with the 1st overall pick doesn't pick him so no one else does. He seems to be asking to not a the first overall pick, he refused t throw at the combine and won't send his medical info to teams. There is definitely something wrong here that he won't tell teams in terms of his health. Look, I can almost prove it by this theory, Williams was crying after the loss to Oregon because it could have been his last ever game, yes I know they still had one more game in the regular season but still, you never know. Plus, USC might not have made a bowl game, so if you spent your whole life trying to get the the NFL, and then suddenly something happens with your health and you can never play again, of course you would cry. Or, maybe Caleb Williams is just a cry-baby. Anyways, I think Drake Maybe deserves to be the number one overall pick. Also, Bo Nix deserves to be a top-10 pick in my opinion. I wouldn't mine if the Commanders draft Williams with the 2nd overall pick though, I am not a fan at all of the franchise and Williams is from Washington DC, Washington Needs a QB and Williams needs to be drafted by someone at some point. It's a win-win kind of situation.
