So, a head coach gets fired 5 weeks into the season, and then we see 3-star players get traded? What is happening with the NFL?
Robert Saleh was fired. Davante Adams asked out of LV, so the trade to the Jets was expected. The Amari Cooper rumors had been going on, but nobody expected him to be traded this week. Then, Cam Akers was not predicted to get traded by anyone, but he did.
Davante Adams getting traded to the Jets was always going to happen. There’s no way that he would’ve been traded anywhere else. The problem for the Jets is that he’s an aging veteran who hasn’t been very productive. He has 209 yards this year in 3 games with 18 receptions and 1 TD. That’s why the Raiders only got a conditional 2nd round pick. I will give the Raiders a C for this trade because they could’ve gotten some capital. The Jets need a WR with Garrett Wilson still getting used to things. It’s good that they went out and got a veteran to pave the way for Wilson. I’m going to give the Jets a B just for that fact.
Now, to Amari Cooper. This Bills team needs a WR. I kind of quit on the Best Player Under 25 series, but if I got to the Bills, I would’ve said Keon Coleman. They did a restart by giving away Stefon Diggs and letting Gabe Davis walk. Keon was the guy they needed. Long story short, that hasn’t been working out, and with the Bills being a playoff team, they need someone who can fill that in. Not only that but take a look at this depth chart.
Amari Cooper now replaces Mack Hollins at WR (when they run a 3WR, 1TE type offense). Give the Bills an A. For the Browns, anything they can get to rebuild this team is good. Deshaun Watson and Amari Cooper were never on the same page to begin with and even with the offense getting weaker and weaker, the draft capital is getting stronger, which is what they need. Give them a B-.
Now to the Cam Akers trade. I think this is a steal for the Vikings. Cam Akers started for the Rams in the 2022 season, but that’s all. He returned to be a backup RB with limited carries and that carried on to Houston, his next team. Joe Mixon and Dameon Pierce were injured this time, leaving Cam Akers to start. He didn’t do bad, but neither did he do good. He’s now going back to Minnesota, to play with his former team as the starter, with the Vikings facing numerous RB injuries. I’m going to give the Vikings a B+ because of the package, which includes a 2026 conditional sixth-round pick, that saved them big time. They didn’t have to pay the price for a star RB. Along with Akers, they’re getting a 2026 conditional seventh-round pick. I’m giving the Texans a B- because of this. They got rid of Akers, but they gave a bit too much.
Honestly, I feel like the Adams trade is a bust. The Amari Cooper trade is probably going to be good. The best feels like the Cam Akers trade.
Now to the roundup part of today’s article.
I know I missed the roundup last week. Super sorry.

Cooper to the Bills is huge. Allen's so talented that he can drag almost any receiving core to the postseason, but without a true-blue WR, the chances of the team winning the conference (or the Super Bowl) are slim. Now, they've got a higher ceiling, and there's less pressure on Allen to play out of his mind every week.
Aaron Rodgers being reunited with his old Packers teammates is crazy (It will only take a matter of time till Aaron Jones heads to NY)
