Intro:

By now, you know that the United States beat France to win the gold medal. Without one guy, this could have gone the opposite way.

Curry had only 6 points in the first half. He finished the second half with 18 points. So many threes coming at the end from Stephen Curry. In fact, he’s the reason they won the game.

Let’s talk about Curry and the game in general. Let’s get it.

France vs USA

First Half:

The first 5 minutes of the first half was a m a z I n g. Now, I say that for a lot of things, but this was just bucket after bucket after bucket from both teams. It was so exhilarating. The crowd was feeling it too! 6 lead changes in just 3 minutes!

Things calmed down after that. Wemby was taken out. Jayson Tatum was in. Still, it was a crazy first quarter, ending 20-15.

The second quarter was owned by Devin Booker. He was all over the place, hitting threes and twos and finished off the first half leading the USA in point with 13. Meanwhile, for people only looking at the statistics, LeBron James didn’t play like LeBron in this one. But, if you look closely, although James only finished with 14 points, he did finish with a double-double. 14 points and 10 assists, plus 6 rebounds.

Second Half:

Coming into the third quarter, the US began to stretch the lead big time. France was heading into dangerous territory. With the kind of team the US had, they could’ve easily stretched the lead to 20 or 30, making the game unreachable for France. Lucky for France, they’re a good team. While they were trailing by 10 or 8 the rest of the quarter, that's still a reachable number. By the end of the third quarter, with a huge mistake from Anthony Edwards, France was trailing by 6 points.

Then… It was time for Chef Curry to Cook France.

It was a boring quarter until we hit the 5-minute mark. That’s when Stephen Curry started cooking.

Three ball after three ball, no one could stop Mr. Curry. It was just Curry shooting the ball and then the noise of the swish. Crazy. But, the whole thing is, I wouldn’t have considered that Curry cooked France if France hadn’t come back. You see, France continued playing incredibly aggressively in the last 4 min, stealing the ball and shooting it inside the paint. Eventually, it became a 4-point lead for the USA with only 3 minutes to go. That’s when Steph went off shooting 3’s. Eventually, when it became clear that the US was going to win, Curry shot a lob shot that went in!

Conclusion:

Steph Curry did Steph Curry during the Olympics. If you didn’t know, this is his first-ever Olympics. It also looks to be his last ever Olympics. Needless to say, he’s made a hell of a mark on Olympic basketball. Not just with this performance, but with his 36 points versus Serbia, tallying the 2nd most points made in a game by a team USA basketball player. Everyone will remember him for what he’s done at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
